BEIJING, Jan.9(Reuters)- A report on the analysis of real-name complaints against China's car tires in 2019, published by Dujiahui's Car Quality Network on Tuesday, showed that the network received 88,163 valid complaints in 2019, of which 2,605 were related to tire products, and the number of tire complaints and the number of failures increased by more than 20 percent.
In 2019, consumers complained about tire products with the following characteristics: the increase in tire complaints was higher than the overall increase in the number of complaints; the number of complaints about tire brands in the country ranked the top three in the United States, Japan and South Korea; the number of complaints about cracking was the largest, accounting for 60%, followed by bulging and skin; and the difficulty of manufacturers and dealers in determining the responsibility for tire problems led to consumers'additional service complaints.
In the tire industry, research and development of low energy consumption, strong wear-resistant, high-security tires is the ultimate goal of all enterprises, but tires are not yet likely to be perfect in rolling resistance, moisture resistance, and wear resistance, and the change in these indicators has even formed the \"devil's triangle\" law in tire research and development.
During the 40 years of reform and opening up, China's tire industry has made great progress from small to large, and the rate of radialization of tyres (the ratio of radial tyres to tire output) has now reached more than 90 percent, with relatively complete varieties and specifications, as well as a relatively high level of raw materials and technological equipment, said Chen Zhihong, a professor at the Beijing Rubber Industry Research and Design Institute. However, China's tire industry is also in the critical period of transformation and upgrading, one of the important trend is that consumers have higher demand for tire products in all aspects. (end)
